After many months of study,
analyses and discussions, the Board of Trustees of the
Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund has decided to dissolve the
organization in order to ensure a respectful and organized
wind down. Your intended gift and your support now and in
the past are most appreciated.
We are very pleased that two outstanding organizations
have been named to be the recipients of the assets of the
organization and have agreed, in their own unique way, to
continue the "legacy" and the spirit of Hoop Dreams by
establishing funds within their respective organizations
that reflect what we, for the past thirteen years, have
been able to do for so many.
DC College Access Program (DC-CAP) will continue the
granting of scholarships, through the Hoop Dreams Legacy
Fund, and will administer the remaining balances of
scholarships originally awarded by Hoop Dreams.

UNCF (United Negro College Fund) will establish the Susie
Kay Legacy Fund to provide for academic and career support
for the very same population that Hoop Dreams served over
these past many years. Please send donations directly to
UNCF made out to: UNCF - Susie Kay Legacy Fund.

The DC CAP fund is ready to accept donations. UNCF will be
able to accept donations in the weeks ahead. Please stay
