Hoop Dreams Announces Date of 10th Anniversary Gala

Building on the momentum Hoop Dreams has built over the past ten years, the organization is planning to celebrate our past, present and future with our first large scale fundraising dinner chaired by Ted and Lynn Leonsis and Sheila Johnson on February 27, 2007 at the Ritz Carlton located at 22nd and M streets in the city's exclusive West End. Quiet Guys Can Do Great Things, Too
A Black Accountant's Success Story by Frank K. Ross

Quiet Guys Can Do Great Things, Too the autobiography of Hoop Dreams Board Chair Frank K. Ross has just been released through Writing Our World Press. In this eye opening work of nonfiction Frank shares his experiences as a young professional, as an entrepreneur, and finally as a partner in the corporate boardroom of KPMG. He recalls the hard lessons that came with being "the first." Quiet Guys Can Do Great Things, Too is a poignant immigrants story and a guide for those seeking success in their personal and professional life.

Thanks to you, since 1996, HDSF has helped send 800 DCPS students to college with the combination of 1,400 academic college scholarships and renewals, and a year long college prep mentoring, SAT prep and internship program. Most of our students are the first in their family to attend college. THANK YOU!

Hope you are enjoying your summer!
