Since 1996, the Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund has sent over 850 students to college through the combination of our year-long college & career programs and the awarding of over 1,100 academic college scholarships. Hoop Dreams works to empower DC youth, so they can find their best pathways to college, career, and life success. Hoop Dreams offers students a unique opportunity to develop relationships with local professionals, receive academic scholarships, build networks, and access resources that will help enrich lives. Most of these students are the first in their family to attend college and come from very challenging social and economic circumstances. But we are more than "getting kids into college - we are getting kids prepared for life.
